Seventh Heaven: Seventh Heaven

Seventh Heaven - "Seventh Heaven"

Sometimes the music is just so great that it simply must be preserved and presented for the enjoyment of a larger audience. Seventh Heaven was produced to meet this objective and features ten striking jazz original compositions written, arranged and performed by a truly outstanding group of world-class jazz musicians including Michael Stephans (Drums), Tom Garvin (Piano), John Patitucci (Bass), Bob Sheppard (Saxes) and Bob Ojeda (Cornet). Included are eight straight-ahead jazz tunes by the ensemble and two stunning solo piano compositions by Tom Garvin.

This obscure but timeless gem from 1984 sounds as if it were recorded yesterday.
The hard bop originals (several of which should be revived), high musicianship,
and consistently rewarding solos make this a milestone in the careers of Tom Garvin,
Bob Sheppard, Bob Ojeda, John Patitucci and Mike Stephans. Great music!

Tom Culver calls I Remember You the "Gone With The Wind of CDs. They had to put a restraining order on me or I'd still be in the studio. It's very hard to put the brakes on when recording Mercer and his brilliant co-writers".
